Frequently Asked Questions

What is Converge?

Converge is a movement of churches working together to help people meet, know, and follow Jesus. We do this by starting and strengthening churches together worldwide. For over 170 years, we’ve helped churches bring life change to communities in the U.S. and around the world through church-planting and multiplication, leadership training and coaching, and global missions.

What is the Thailand Consortium?

We are a group of North American churches and individuals committed to seeing a disciple-making movement among the Thai people by uniting to give unprecedented support in prayer, communication, recruitment, and finances to the global workers and projects within the Converge Thailand Initiative.

What is the difference between the Thailand Consortium & the Thailand Initiative?

The consortium serves and supports the initiative. The initiative serves and supports the Thai-led gospel movement that has begun in Thailand.

Every Converge International Ministries initiative (a large missions endeavor focused on reaching a specific unreached people group or region of the world) is supported by a consortium which promotes intercessory prayer and deploys resources of all kinds. Each consortium network is led by a team of high-capacity leaders who work in close collaboration with our initiative leaders and their project teams.

What is the Thailand Consortium Leadership Team, and what do they do?

Our Consortium Team is comprised of volunteers from participating churches to serve in the following roles:

  • Executive Team Leader works closely with the Initiative Leader to understand ministry needs and facilitate support from the Consortium member churches.

  • Team Coordinators provide Consortium support in areas such as Prayer Coordination, Administration, Finance, Church Missional Development, Communication, etc.

  • Project Liaison(s) coordinate specific activities related to the deployed initiative projects, including but not limited to short term trips, etc.

  • Team Members promote the international initiative through prayer, support for missionaries, raising up of volunteers and missionaries, networking together, and encouraging involvement of the local Body of Christ.

What is the difference between a church supporting a particular global worker and a church being a member of the Thailand Consortium?

Being a member of the Thailand Consortium helps the church embrace, impact, and connect with a wide variety of people groups throughout Thailand who have never heard the Gospel of Jesus.

What benefits can members of the Thailand Consortium receive?

  • Join online prayer calls or virtual prayer walks

  • Expand the perspectives of members of the church on God’s purpose for reaching the nations

  • Take part in something larger than individual efforts that capitalizes on the experience of an established mission with a variety of mission efforts
